NorthJersey.com is currently running a great article about Kevin Blute's son. Kevin is the recording secretary for Bergen 32. The story center's around the belief that prayers to the Division's namesake, Fr. Solanus Casey, brought about Kevin's teenage son's triumph over melanoma. This family miracle has reinforced efforts to push Fr. Casey closer towards the goal of being the first US born male saint.

Brothers,
I was lucky enough to be able to watch the installation Mass of the newly appointed Archbishop of New York Timothy M. Dolan at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on April 15. Arch Bishop Dolans homily was powerful and gave Catholics a good understanding of where archbishop stood on some of the most important issues, from abortion to a city still dealing with the 9-11 tragedy. What really convinced me that Timothy Dolan was the right choice to guide the Catholics of New York was his expression of joy. Archbishop Dolan stood outside the Cathedral as the procession into Mass passed, he took the time to greet each person in that procession and seemed to know many by their names. Dolan also began to wave to the crowds of people on the street. The absolute joy in his face was like a light or beacon that I am sure will draw many to Christ’s Church. |

The members of the Fr. Solanus Casey Division 32 Bergen county took the opportunity to recognize two distinguished members at their 2nd Annual NCAA Beefsteak dinner. They recognized John Hughes, a former member of AOH Hudson 8, for his lifetime of service to the Irish American Community and his work with Project Children. The second honoree was Kevin Blute as their Hibernian of the Year. Kevin is the Division's Recording Secretary who has worked tirelessly on behalf of the Division and the cause of promoting Fr.
