The convention opened on Friday afternoon with nominations and informative meetings. Friday ended with a Pub Crawl that brought together Brothers from around the state to share in Friendship & Unity as in our motto. Jersey City Mayor, Jerramiah Healey and a member of Hudson #1 was awarded with the State Board's Hibernian of the Year award. John Keane (Monmouth 16) was presented with the Joe Sullivan Award. Sean Pender (Mercer 1) received the Patrick Torphy award for his work in the advancement and aid of the Irish. The Hospitality award was presented to Michael Ryan of PJ Ryan's Pub. The members of the Hudson County division received the Host City Award. And finally the Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Thomas Corcoran of Essex 3.
