The time has come for the AOH's annaul Freedom For All Ireland Christmas Appeal.  This effort is organized by the National Board and supported by the State and Division FFAI officers.

This appeal is a continuning effort to support new hope, new skills, and new strength to many in the Nationalist community who bore the brunt of the struggle for equality for nearly 40 years. Even as we applaud the progress made by the formation of a devolved government, the needs of the Catholic and nationalist communities continue. There is still disproportionate joblessness in the Nationalist areas where more than 15,000 Republican ex-prisoners are subjected to legal barriers such as background checks that exclude them from a decent job, home, loan or even the ability to adopt a child. The associated mental and physical pain from long years of violence, depravation, and imprisonment still affect families as can be seen by depression, suicide rates, and substance abuse.

The good news is that we are there to help as an integral part of the world-wide Republican family. Our funds have been used to supplement vital services assisting those in need. Last year, your donations helped groups like Relatives for Justice, Pat Finucane Center, Coiste na n-larchimi, Tar Anall, and the Holy Cross Trust. The generosity of our Christmas Appeal has shown that despite the many competing demands for our help, our Order places a priority on the problems, challenges and hopes of the Nationalist community. Our deep sense of concern goes to the very heart of our being and the motto of our Order.

To aid this appeal, the National Board has initialted at $10 club.  This is an initative for individual members to contribute to as little as $10 to the effort. Donations of $1000 or more will receive a piece of Rebublican Art (Harp/Celtic Cross). Send all donations to Sean Pender, 13 Scullin Drive, Hamilton, NJ 08620.
