Division Name: Brendan Tevlin – The name of Brendan Tevlin had been chosen due to this young mans reputation of a highly upstanding Irish American that was killed on June 25, 2014. He was just 19 years of age.

Brendan was born and raised in Livingston NJ. That year he just completed his freshman year at the University of Richmond. Brendan was a bagpiper for the Essex County Shillelagh Pipes & Drums. He was a 2013 Graduate of Seton Hall Prep, where he was a member of the National Honor Society, Lacrosse Team, Ambassador’s Club, Knights of Setonia and the Gaelic Club, where he served as president. He also served on the Student Council and was a member of the Math Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society and recipient of the Monsignor Tuohy Award for having achieved a GPA of over 4.0 for all four years at Seton Hall. He was also a Eucharistic Minister at Seton Hall Prep.

Brendan was gunned down while stopped at a traffic light in West Orange NJ, he was on his way home from a friends house. After being shot eight times, Brendan was robbed and his vehicle stolen. One man has plead guilty of terroristic murder and was sentenced to life in prison without parole for this heinous crime.

Brendan was an amazing young Irish American that we would all be very proud of. That was our reason to name this the Brendan Tevlin Division of Ocean County, in the New Jersey Ancient Order of Hibernian’s. In his Honor.
